Volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, well-run, and welcoming festival environment. If accepted, you are expected to:
-
Attend all scheduled shifts
-
Arrive on time, rested, and fully sober
-
Remain free of alcohol, illicit substances, and non-prescribed drugs while on shift
-
Follow guidance from Volunteer Coordinators, Department Leads, and Festival Management
-
Complete all assigned duties to a reasonable standard
-
Sign in/out for every shift and communicate promptly if issues arise
These responsibilities are essential for both your safety and the smooth operation of the event.
Important: This is only a summary. Volunteers must read and agree to the full Volunteer Agreement, We the Woods - Community Commitment & Liability Waiver on Page 2 and 3 of this application form, to be considered as a volunteer, and to fully understand all requirements and expectations before applying for a volunteer position.
Volunteer Deposit Policy
If you are accepted as a volunteer, a CAD $400 Volunteer Deposit is required to secure your position and complete onboarding. This deposit ensures reliability, accountability, and commitment to assigned shifts.
The deposit includes:
-
$40 non-refundable administration fee
This fee supports environmental impact mitigation, administrative processing, onboarding, and operational costs.
-
$360 refundable security deposit
This amount will be refunded to the original purchasing credit card after all scheduled shifts and volunteer duties have been successfully completed and verified.
Financial Hardship & Deposit Reductions
A limited number of partial deposit reductions may be available to first-time volunteers experiencing financial hardship. Applicants must complete the Deposit Reduction Application Form AFTER completing this general application form (submission does not guarantee approval). Full deposit waivers are not available for first-time volunteers and may only be offered to returning volunteers in good standing, at Festival Management’s discretion.
Volunteer Benefits
As a volunteer in good standing, you will receive:
-
The opportunity to be part of, connect & collaborate with an inspiring community
-
Early returner invite with the option to select preferred shifts the following year
Volunteers wishing to camp outside Crew Camping must upgrade their vehicle pass at the regular rate via the website. These sell out fast so pre-purchasing is strong advised. Please note: Crew Camping is mandatory for all volunteers until Early Entry gates open, after which you may move to your purchased camping lot.
Volunteers who plan to bring a vehicle or RV >21' must reach out to our Site Ops team as soon as they have submitted their application. Oversized crew camping is extremely limited and will be awarded on a first request basis.
Public Safety Volunteers
If you would like to apply to volunteer for the Medical, Fire, or Public Safety department, please complete the Public Safety Application Form instead.
International Volunteers
Only applicants with Canadian citizenship or legal eligibility to work in Canada will be considered. International applicants must hold a valid Working Holiday Visa.
Returning Volunteers
All volunteers in good standing who worked with us in 2025 should have received an email inviting them to our Early Returner Application process. If you volunteered in 2025 and did not receive this email, please contact volunteers@wickedwoods.ca so we can follow up.
If you volunteered with us in previous years but not in 2025, please complete the below application form as usual. You will be eligible for Early Returner status next year, provided you finish the 2026 season in good standing.
Communication
If you have any questions about the below form, please email volunteers@wickedwoods.ca.
To ensure you are receiving all communications from us, and avoid emails ending up in junk folders, we recommend adding volunteers@wickedwoods.ca to your "Safe Sender" list.
PLEASE DO NOT NAVIGATE AWAY FROM THIS PAGE WHILE FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION FORM. THIS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF COLLECTED INFORMATION, REQUIRING YOU TO START AGAIN.
